Mediation is moving into the mainstream of workplace conflict resolution. It is explicitly recommended in the foreword to the revised ACAS Code of Practice as a dispute resolution option. As the cost of litigation increases, there has never before been a greater impetus for employers and employees to explore mediation as an alternative to litigation. While mediation is not appropriate for all cases, it can be an effective and (potentially) much less expensive alternative to litigation.
