Delegates who came on this course in May described it as:

"extremely interesting and thought-provoking"

"a very good seminar with just the right amount of content - the size of the group also, in my opinion, was perfect as it involved everyone in the interaction of the role play without being too onerous!!"

"I am happy to say that, using the skills I learnt on the Workplace Mediation Skills course, I now have a better understanding of the problems my employees face and the team morale has improved greatly."

"It just totally works!"

This one-day introductory course will show you how mediation works; and how you can use mediation and conflict resolution skills as a manager to resolve workplace disputes and prevent workplace problems from escalating.

What is Workplace Mediation?

Mediation is a way of resolving differences and disputes by using a neutral third party to bring two or more parties together with a view to reaching agreement.

Workplace mediation is a way of resolving conflict between employers and employees; or between groups of employees.  It is powerful addition to the "management toolkit" and is especially effective when it is used at an early stage.

What will be covered?

  • Conflict - how it arises; and what we can do about it
  • How Mediation Works - separating the people from the problem
  • Laying the groundwork - how to prepare yourself and others
  • Understanding - finding out what the problem is really about
  • Turning 'positions' into 'interests' - getting the parties to think differently
  • Overcoming intransigence -reality testing and breaking deadlocks
  • Getting an agreement - and making it stick afterwards

What will be the day be like?

The day will be informal but intense.

Participants will have the opportunity to apply the tips, techniques and strategies they learn throughout the day.

There will be plenty of time for questions, discussion and reflection.

Participants will get a chance to see what works for them in a safe, controlled environment.

How much does the course cost?

The course costs £250 plus VAT per delegate.
